Why not take advantage of your vacations to learn French during the summer?
Margherita is an Italian student who decided to spend the summer in Bordeaux to improve her level of French, as she aims to move to France in the near future.
“I’m a student and I thought that this summer I could study French to master it even better.”
Wanting to live in a French-speaking country is a dream shared by a great many people, and what better way to prepare for it than to take French lessons in the summer? That’s exactly what Margherita did!
Thanks to the intensive French courses held in the mornings from 9am to 1pm, Monday to Friday, Margherita was able to discover Bordeaux in her free time. So, after the 20 hours of weekly classes, she can take part in the many cultural activities offered by the school in the afternoons and evenings.
She asserts that this organization maximizes concentration and leaves plenty of time to enjoy the city and its surroundings. So, in summer, the Alliance Française de Bordeaux feels less like a school than a summer camp.
It was through friends that Margherita heard about the Alliance Française de Bordeaux and decided to join us for the summer.
She chose to come to Bordeaux because it’s an ideal city to learn French in summer.
Bordeaux is perfect in summer because it’s smaller and quieter than Paris, and above all, it’s close to the sea! Margherita loves this aspect of the city, and every weekend travels to the beach in less than 1 hour by train.
Margherita’s French learning over the summer wasn’t limited to French classes at the Alliance Française. She also took advantage of accommodation with a local host family. The young Italian felt that this helped her as much as the courses. En effet, parler 24h/24 en français grâce à sa famille d’accueil française et ses nouveaux amis internationaux l’a fait énormément progresser, et plus particulièrement en expression orale.
Moreover, thanks to her charming host family in Bordeaux, Margheria confides that she has been able to go on many adventures in the region with them. Living with a family has also taught her more about French culture. So now she has all the keys she needs to integrate well once she’s living in France.
